De Excidio Britanniae, Gildas, tr. J.A. Giles -- more of a lamentation-type sermon than a historical record, this 6th-Century text doesn't specifically mention Arthur, although Gildas makes references to the "Victor of Badon" and names other figures long believed by most scholars to have been predecessors or contemporaries of the historical Arthur. This Giles translation doesn't include Gildas' remarks against the five tyrants.
